Full terms & conditions for Clare’s Home Bakes Ltd are detailed below. Please read carefully and make sure that you understand them before ordering any products from our site. By making initial payment it will be deemed that the terms are accepted.


1. Introduction

1.1 These terms and conditions will govern the sale and purchase of products through our website or via email/social media/telephone channels.
1.2 You will be asked to give your express agreement to these terms and conditions before you place an order on our website.
1.3 This document does not affect any statutory rights you may have as a consumer.


2. Accessing Our Site

2.1 Access to our site is permitted on a temporary basis, and we reserve the right to withdraw or amend the service we provide on our site without notice.

2.2 We will not be liable if for any reason our site is unavailable at any time or for any period. 

2.3 From time to time, we may restrict access to some parts of our site, or to our entire site, to users who have registered with us.

3. Order process through website (postal brownies & blondies)

3.1 Important - Orders will need to be made by 5pm on a Friday. Orders will then be dispatched the following Tuesday, with the exception of Bank Holidays where they will be dispatched on the following Wednesday. Any changes to this will be advised with prior notice (for example holiday periods).

3.2  Your order cannot be accepted until payment in full for the products ordered has been received by us, at which time a legally binding agreement on the terms set out here will become effective.

3.3 You will have the opportunity to identify and correct input errors by emailing us on the email address listed on this website by 5pm Sunday prior to dispatch.


4 Order process through email/social media/telephone

4.1 Quotations will be provided once the product, size, quantity, flavour & decoration is determined by the customer.

4.2 Booking requests are confirmed once a non-refundable deposit has been paid to secure the date. Until this time, no booking is confirmed.

4.3 Bookings that are requested at short notice i.e. 2 weeks prior to the date required, would require full payment to secure the booking.

4.4 Orders for celebration cakes and cupcakes are collection only, we do not currently offer a delivery service for these products.

4.5 We have the right to refuse any order that cannot be fulfilled in the requested time frame.

4.6 Please ensure that you provide the correct date for your order i.e. the date you require the items to be ready for collection. Any late changes may not be able to be accommodated.

4.7 A collection time will be allocated for your agreed collection date. This is to ensure you receive your items as fresh as possible and to keep customers safe in accordance with Covid guidelines to avoid clashes with other customer collections. Please adhere to the time allocated, prior notice will be required if for any reason you are not able to collect at the agreed time, a revised time will then be allocated based on availability.


5 Products

5.1 We may periodically change the products available on our website.

5.2 The images of our products on our site are for illustrative purposes only. Your product and their packaging may vary from these images.

5.3 Products which were due to be collected by you from the designated location and which you failed to collect on the appointed time/day, will be kept refrigerated for a maximum of 24 hours but we cannot accept any responsibility for deterioration of the products. Failure to collect after this period will deem the contract null and void.



6. Prices

6.1 Our prices are quoted on our website for postal brownies and blondies.

6.2 Quotations for bespoke cakes & cupcakes are provided once the product, size, quantity, flavour & decoration is determined by the customer.
6.3  We reserve the right to increase prices on our products at any time, however this will not affect contracts already in place prior to the increase.

6.4 In the event of incorrectly quoted prices on the website we will verify prices as part of our sale procedures and the correct price will be notified to you before the contract comes into force.

6.5 Accepted quotations for bespoke cakes & cupcakes require a deposit to be paid within 48 hours to be eligible for the quoted price. Availability and quotes are not guaranteed beyond this time.

7. Payments

7.1 Payments may be made by any of the permitted methods specified on our website for postal brownies & blondies.

7.2 Payment methods for bespoke cakes and cupcakes will be confirmed at the point of order.

7.3 For orders under £50, full payment is required to secure the booking for bespoke cakes & cupcakes. This is required within 48 hours of a quotation being provided.

7.4 For orders over £50, a non-refundable 30% payment is required in order to secure the booking for bespoke cakes and cupcakes. This is required within 48 hours of a quotation being provided.
7.5 The remaining balance will be required 7 days prior to collection.

7.6 If you fail to pay the amount due under these terms and conditions we reserve the right to withhold the products ordered and cancel the contract of sale for the product.


8. Refund and Returns Policy

8.1 Any cancellations for orders placed via the website must be notified by 5pm on the Sunday prior to Tuesday dispatch, a 20% cancellation admin fee will be charged under these terms. Refunds after this deadline will not be given.

8.2 Taste is a personal matter and is subjective. We cannot accept the return of any products merely because you do not like the taste of them.

8.3 Failure to collect your order within the designated timeframe on your collection date will not be eligible for a refund.

8.3 As our Products are custom made and perishable your legal right to cancel a Contract under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 do not apply.


9 Risk & Title

9.1 The products purchased from us will be your responsibility from the time you collect the products from our premises.

9.2 When transporting cakes, it is strongly advised to place in the footwell of the car or in the boot to ensure they are on a flat surface. We do not recommend holding the cake or placing it on a seat. In warmer weather, it is strongly advised to transport your cake with the air conditioning on to keep the cake as cool as possible to arrive safely at your destination.

9.3 We are not responsible for any damage caused once the cake leaves our premises.

9.4 It is advised to keep celebration cakes in the fridge until approximately 1-2 hours before serving.

9.5 Celebration cakes and cupcakes are fresh on the day of collection and will remain at their best for a further 24 hours if kept by you at an ambient temperature out of direct sunlight and in an airtight container. Products that are kept for longer than we recommend, are at your own risk and we are not liable for any deterioration of the products in these circumstances.

9.6 Brownies & Blondies will remain at their best for up to 7 days if kept in an airtight container in the fridge.



Under no circumstances shall we be liable in respect of any complaint concerning any aspect of any product which is not raised by you within 24 hours of delivery by us or collection by you.


We will notify you of any product containing the allergens gluten, milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, brazil nuts, cashews, pecans, pistachios and macadamia nuts), sesame, and soya on the specific product’s web page. However, as our kitchen handles all the above allergens, we cannot guarantee that traces of these will not be found in our products and therefore we do not accept any liability for any damage to health or any distress caused to you by the consumption of such products. In addition, our kitchen also handles the following allergens celery, crustaceans (such as prawns, crabs & lobster), fish, lupin, molluscs (such as mussels & oysters), mustard, sesame, sulphur dioxide & sulphites.


For bespoke cakes and cupcakes, allergen information and dietary requirements will be taken at the point of order.

Shipping and Fulfilment Policy

We will arrange for the products you purchase to be delivered to the delivery address you specify during the checkout process.

Orders made by 5pm on a Friday, will be sent out via Royal Mail Tracked 24 the following Tuesday after the purchase is complete and the order is confirmed (Wednesday after a bank holiday weekend).

We are not responsible for any damaged goods or weather conditions that may affect your order as this is out of our control.

We will only deliver products to addresses on the UK mainland

We will only ask for personal information when required to provide a service to you. We collect it by fair and lawful means, with your knowledge and consent. We also let you know why we’re collecting it and how it will be used.

We only retain collected information for as long as necessary to provide you with your requested service. 

We do not share any personal information publicly or with third-parties, except when required by law.
